DDGS (Corn Distillers Grains)

DDGS (Corn Distillers Grains)

Detailed description

Detailed Uses and Advantages of DDGS (Corn Distillers Grains)

Full name of DDGS: Distillers Dried Grains with Solubles. It is a high-protein feed raw material dried after corn alcoholic fermentation, a by-product of the ethanol industry, and a mainstream protein feed for livestock, poultry and aquaculture worldwide.

I. Core Nutritional Composition (Source of Fundamental Advantages)

  • Crude Protein: 26%~30%, much higher than corn (8.5%), close to the minimum protein level of soybean meal
  • Crude Fat: 8%~12%, high-energy oil that cuts costs of additional oil supplementation
  • Crude Fiber: 7%~10%, effective dietary fiber
  • Amino Acids: Rich in lysine, threonine, tryptophan and branched-chain amino acids; contains natural yeast and peptides
  • Minerals: Phosphorus, potassium, magnesium and sulfur. Its available phosphorus content is far higher than corn, reducing the dosage of dicalcium phosphate
  • Vitamins: B vitamins (B1/B2/B6/niacin), vitamin E and biotin
  • Active Substances: Yeast cell walls, glucans, mannan oligosaccharides and lactic acid fermentation metabolites

Usage Restrictions & Precautions (for formula control reference)

  • High sulfur content: The inclusion rate for ruminants shall not exceed 25%; the maximum dosage for poultry and swine should be controlled to prevent sulfur poisoning.
  • High fat content: Dosage for piglets and chicks should not exceed 10% to avoid diarrhea.
  • Relatively insufficient lysine: When soybean meal is replaced at a high proportion, crystalline lysine should be added in the formula to balance amino acid profiles.
