DL-Methionine 99%

DL-Methionine is the primary limiting essential amino acid for livestock, poultry, and aquatic animals; as animals cannot synthesize it themselves, it must be supplemented through the diet. The 99% high-purity crystalline form serves as a standard-grade additive in the feed industry, offering distinct advantages in purity, absorption efficiency, and formulation compatibility compared to diluted methionine or methionine hydroxy analogues.

Detailed description

Product Detail:

High purity (up to 99%) ensures no waste of active ingredients.

Unlike products on the market containing only 88% methionine or diluted with carriers, this 99% crystalline form contains no fillers like wheat bran or silica:

Requires lower inclusion rates per ton of feed, freeing up formulation space for organic protein sources such as dried corn steep liquor powder, feed yeast, and glutamate residue;

Allows for precise dosing, minimizing errors in premix and concentrate formulations and preventing growth impairment caused by amino acid imbalances (excess or deficiency).

High bioavailability; both L- and D-isomers are utilized by animals.

DL-methionine is a racemic mixture: animal enzymes rapidly convert D-methionine into active L-methionine, resulting in a biological value equivalent to natural L-methionine;

Compared to liquid methionine hydroxy analogues (MHA), it is absorbed faster, with utilization rates 10–15% higher, particularly in young piglets, chicks, fish, and shrimp.

Excellent physicochemical stability, suitable for various feed processing methods.

A white crystalline powder with good flowability; it does not clump or separate when mixed with choline chloride, feed yeast, or trace elements;

High-temperature resistant; experiences minimal loss during high-heat processes like pelleting and aquatic feed extrusion, and is resistant to oxidative degradation;

Non-hygroscopic and odorless; it does not compromise feed palatability or interact antagonistically with vitamins or live microbial additives.

Flexible formulation, significantly reducing the need for expensive protein ingredients.

While soybean meal, fish meal, and feed yeast contain protein, they are generally deficient in methionine; adding 99% methionine precisely addresses this amino acid gap:

Directly reduces the inclusion rate of soybean meal and fish meal, lowering overall formulation costs;

When combined with dried corn steep liquor powder, glutamate residue, and feed yeast, it balances the overall amino acid profile and maximizes the utilization efficiency of microbial protein.

Stabilizes egg-laying rates and extends the peak laying period; increases eggshell hardness, reducing the incidence of soft-shelled and broken eggs;

Ensures abundant yolk and albumen in hatching eggs, improves fertilization and hatchability rates, and significantly reduces the number of weak chicks.

Breeding Pigs and Poultry

Sows: Increases ovulation and litter size; results in higher birth weights and survival rates for piglets; boosts milk yield and milk protein content;

Boars / Breeding Roosters: Enhances sperm motility and semen concentration; reduces rates of non-pregnancy and infertile eggs.

Methionine is a core component of keratin, which forms feathers, pig bristles and hair, cattle and sheep hooves, and the scales of fish and shrimp:

Poultry: Promotes glossy, smooth plumage; reduces abnormal behaviors like feather pecking and vent pecking; and lowers the culling rate of substandard birds.

Swine: Results in a healthy, lustrous coat and tough hooves; reduces hoof cracking and lameness.

Fish and Shrimp: Ensures intact, firm scales; reduces mucus loss and body rot.

Summary:

99% DL-Methionine is an essential limiting amino acid additive for animal feed.

Its advantages include high purity (carrier-free), high absorption efficiency, processing stability, and the ability to precisely reduce formulation costs.

Key benefits for animals include balancing amino acids to promote weight gain; protecting the liver while providing antioxidant and anti-stress effects; repairing skin, fur, and hooves; enhancing egg-laying and reproductive performance; and eliminating pica. It is an essential ingredient for improving quality and efficiency in livestock, poultry, and aquaculture.
